Six
Rivers Running Club has selected a scenic course along the "Avenue of the
Giants" that is naturally ideal for the runner. with added amenities along
the course to support the runner.

LOCATION Staged on "The Avenue of the Giants" in Humboldt
Redwoods State Park located in rural northwestern California.
DESCRIPTION Course is on paved road that
winds around giant trees and through the river valley .....One of the most scenic courses anywhere/
ELEVATION & WEATHER Course elevation
is 200 to 400 feet above sea level -- varies slightly. Weather usually has cool misty mornings that gradually clear
and warm toward noon -- highes 60's to 70's.
Certification Courses are certified and
sanctioned by USAT&F (United
States of America Track and Field). Marathon is a qualifying event for the Boston
Marathon.
Road Closure Both the Avenue and Bull
Creek Roads will be closed between 8:30am and 2pm
(no blades, skates, bikes, strollers, cars, pets, earphones, Ipods, or cell phones allowed!!) There will be limited access, guided traffic on Bull Creek Road, so be watchful.
Course Markera & Split Times Markers
every mile. Marathon times will be called at miles 1, 5, 10, 15, and 20. 10K times will be called at the first
mile and turn-around. Half Marathon splits are the same as the first half of the Marathon.
Aid Stations & Porta-Potties Aid
stations will be placed approximately every 2.5 to 3 miles as well as at the staging area. Aid stations will have
water, ERG and contact with medical personnel. Porta-Potties will be at staging area, aid stations and turn-arounds.
Staging Participants in all events will
have an opportunity to view other participants' progress. Races are staged in a manner that ensure complete individual
race integrity.

Confirmation packets will be mailed to entrants whose entry is postmarked by
March 1st.
REFUNDS:
If the race is canceled due to cimcurstances
beyond the control of the Six Rivers Running Club, there will be no refund,
but a T shirt will be mailed to each registered runner.
DIVISIONS:
14 and under, and each five years from 15 years.
TRANSFER & REPLACEMENT BIBS:
Marathon entrants to the 10K or Half Marathon
exchange marathon number for a 10K or Half Marathon number.
10K or half marathon entrants to the Marathon:
Exchange 10K or Half Marathon number for a Marathon number and pay the difference
between 10K fee and Marathon or Half Marathon fee in effect on date of transfer.
Entry transfers from person to person:
Exchange the original race number bib for a new number bib and a payment of
$10.00. (Please note that running with another person's number can, and will, effect
the results listings. This practice is considered unethical and downright mean.)
Replacement bibs for lost/left behind bibs: $10.00
BIB AND CHIP PICK UP: Runners pick bibs and chips at the race staging area on Saturday between 10 am and 5 pm, or on race day morning, beginning at 7 am.
PARKING: Adjacent
to the staging area on the north side of the
Dyerville Bridge on the Eel
River flats. Arrive on the early
side, preferably before 8am.
WALKERS & SLOWER RUNNERS: 8:am
starting time for those who need more than five hours to finish the Marathon or 2:30 for the half marathon.
VIEWING AREA: Spectators
may view race at any point along course -- the most exciting points are the
start/finish line area north of the bridge and the half-way area on the bridge.
Tee SHIRTS:
Tee shirts will be given to each "on-site runner" with pre-March 15'th
registrants receiving first priority for race site shirt sizes. Should demand
for a particular size exceed supply, additional shirts will be ordered and mailed.
Commerative sweat shirts will be available for purchase on
race day.
MEDALS: Medals
given to all marathon and half marathon finishers.
GOODIES: Fruits
and snacks will be provided after the race to all participants. Race officials
reserve the right to parcel food out so all participants can receive some.
